Advantages of Small Bathrooms

Feeling like your bathroom deserves a makeover. Wishing you could renovate but think it’s too hard or too expensive and don’t know where to start?  Well were happy to tell you that it probably doesn’t cost as much, take as long or is as complicated as you might think.

We love it when customers have small bathrooms and want a bathroom renovation.  Especially when they have been putting it off for quite some time, thinking it would be too hard, costly and time consuming. Mostly because they are unfamiliar with the process and are not sure where to start, but when finally deciding to take the step are amazed by the transformation that can be achieved in such a short amount of time.

Starting with a Small Bathroom

So you have a small bathroom. It might seem pretty obvious but if you have a small bathroom, a renovation is not as expensive or hard as you might think. Sure you have to have some money to play with but having a small space to work with can have its benefits.

You don’t need to start knocking down walls and creeping into valuable living space thinking that’s the only way to make your bathroom luxurious. Small bathrooms can be very effective and practical and the plus side is they are easier to clean! Anything that reduces the amount of cleaning is always good…right? Less time cleaning = more time enjoying the bath, especially in winter!

It can be a lot more affordable and easier to achieve an impressive upscale bathroom on a budget than larger bathrooms. Size definitely does matter… with respect to time and costs involved. Basically the smaller the room, the simpler it is!

With the help of a little space saving ideas (a good plumber should be able to help you with this) to get the most out of your space without it seeming cramped, utilising existing plumbing fixture locations (therefore avoiding associated council permits) , and utilising your licensed plumbers’ skills you avoid a lot of costs when undergoing your bathroom renovation and absolutely come out with a great quality bathroom without the need of a builder.

Small Bathrooms Cost Less with Big Results

With a small bathroom, there is a lot more value and style you can add to the bathrooms finishes, than with a larger bathroom, when on a budget. For example if your bathroom is currently a 1.8mx2.3m floor area like the one we did recently, the amount of floor tiles you need is only 4.14m2. So you can afford to get an attractive high quality tile because you don’t need as much. When a lot of your fixed costs are reduced like wall sheeting and tiling quantity, there is more $$ remaining for the finishing products that can really make the difference.

Clean simple design can scream quality and sophistication despite the overall space being small. Small space but with big results can definitely be achieved. If you’re on a really tight budget and are not too concerned with flashy tap wear and flawless designer bathtubs, you can opt not to lash out on the plumbing fixtures. There are a lot of companies these days replicating high end expensive fixtures for a third of the price, that a lot of people cannot even tell the difference. So that’s again more money in your pocket at the end of the day. And for those that have always dreamed of that designer luxurious bathroom we see in magazines and have the budget to suit, but have a small space, you can still achieve it.
